“Healing is a matter of time, but sometimes it is a matter of opportunity” -Hippocrates
The purpose of this blog is to explain my “why” when it comes to chiropractic. What is the reasoning behind why I personally want to be a Chiropractor. To be honest I had no idea this is what I wanted to do until a year and a half before I started chiropractic school. I had never been under chiropractic care or even been adjusted and had no idea what it even was. So how did I decide this is what I wanted to do?
All throughout school I loved science and anatomy classes and knew I wanted a profession in healthcare. It wasn’t until my Junior year of college that I thought about chiropractic. I was required to do an internship that summer and decided to intern at a chiropractic office from back home. I gained so much insight about what Chiropractors actually do and how connected they were with their patients and the community. And that really stood out to me, how they related to their patients, how they truly cared for them and wanted to help. That’s when I knew that through this profession I can not only help people improve their overall health but I can also make real connections with them.
To me community is everything. It is so important to make connections and relationships with people because achieving success alone is nearly impossible. Growing up I’ve always lived in a small town. One of those towns where literally everyone knows everyone. So when deciding where I want to open my business one day that will be the most important aspect for me. Finding a community that is accepting, supportive, and connected. I’m excited for the future and I want to accomplish great things. So knowing I’ll have such a supportive community behind every step of the way is so reassuring.
